How Much Has All This Going Green Actually Helped The Planet?

Global warming is a growing problem crosswise the world and all the smartest minds are working on how to fix it. As it last stood the average temperature increase world wide is roughly 2 degrees on average.
In the past year or so even with the depression going green has become a huge thing and everyone is now starting to do it. So in this roughly year time in going green how much have we (humans) really saved the earth or should i say slowed down the destruction of it?

I don’t know if you can really measure it. There are too many factors to consider, but I do see tales that show we are making an impact. As you said the recession has had a fantastic impact on the green movement. Many people are learning that being frugal is excellent for the earth. Some of the indicators I’ve seen are hundreds of plants closed in China, That means fewer emissions and toxins being released into the environment by making cheap plastic things for us to toss into the landfill. There was a tale out of Southern CA that said garbage manufacture from homes had declined about 50%, and construction waste had declined enough that they were able to temporarily close one of the area’s landfills. I also see an awareness of the toxins we have in our cleaning and household products. Just look at the local grocery store shelves to see labeling for everything from biodegradable to phosphate free.
The best part of the recession is people have been taken off of autopilot. They are thinking more about their choices. Once you learn the impact of your choice, it’s hard to go back to terrible habits.

Im sorry but global warming is a crock. Our government missuses the environment a billionfold more than we ever will. More than half of our problems can be addressed to previously discharged nuclear weapons with radioactive half life of 75 years(oh just testing). Space shuttle americas largest budgeted abortion makes a huge irrepairalbe hole in ozone. Bottom line the person with the most money is most destructive to rest of us through their greed and waste.

Not at all we used to use light bulbs now they want us to use the new helical bulbs that we can’t throw away and from all that I have replaced in the past 2 years and haven’t found a convent recylcing place so this is one of albert gores bull green things to save the earth

Going green will help clean the ocean, less polution in the air, less gas is used, less coal, less water will be littered, endangered animals population grows, more trees are planted, and so much more that the earth will have a gift from everyone.

Global warming not exist.
I just read that Al Gore, known for his documentary An Inconvenient Truth, has just admitted that the emanation of CO2 is not responsible for global warming and has canceled his conference at the Copenhagen Summit. This is due to fraud of the IPCC and CRU on global warming.
Global warming does not exist. It was all a fraud and the scandal has been called CLIMATEGATE.

Gate Weather: Climate change is a fraud, hackers revealed that they had access to files of scientists .
Global warming does not happen by CO2 emissions but by solar activity. Remember the small ice age of 1600.
At the Copenhagen Summit of December 7, 2009 analyzing the carbon tax to reduce CO2 emissions by removing subsidies so carbon (oil, gas and coal). In this way, being so expensive these carbons, people need to reduce consumption of coal, and thus CO2 emissions.
This tax will be the start of the new world order.
