We simply need to reckon back of the last time we lost power when we had to light some candles and wash ourselves with cold water. Luckily for us the power came back but what if it didn’t come back. We have to stop thinking that everything lasts forever because nothing does and the sooner we realize that, the surpass we will be, it is time to start thinking outside the box, and look up high above into the sky and realize that solar energy is here for us to use. It shines 24 hours a day, 7 days a week non stop around the world, it is here now and for a long time to come.

The sun is a very intense ball of fire or gas way up in the atmosphere. We only see it when we are awake but on the other side of the globe others also get the daytime when we get the night. Did you know that some people use a fantastic deal of the heat generated from the sun in order to heat their homes, power electricity and provide hot water to their like ones and businesses. Thinking about all the machinery that runs with electricity, it is hard to presume running it by rerouting the sun to the machinery. Scientists have started to make this possible by utilizing this free energy to power everything from, home heaters to heating water, from powering home appliances to electronic devices and even the space shuttle is using solar power.

This solar power energy can be redirected and concentrated using unique boxes (solar panels) that pull towards you the light all through the day to heat water and homes throughout the night. Solar power is becoming very ordinary, extremely vital and provides a natural way to heat, collect electricity and heat water with just a small more try. We live in changing times; in the future we may have no other choice but to look at natural resources in order to have these necessities and conveniences. To have a home solar power system installed or have one made yourself can save you a huge amount of money and the investment you made to modify you house to implement a solar system can pay itself off many times in a small period of time. Solar power is vital now and in the future.

Solar energy is a renewable energy source. This means that it can be used indefinitely to provide energy to homes, businesses, vehicles, and many other things. You can find out how solar energy is used simply by searching the internet. It’s quite incredible to see all the applications for solar power. There are more than you might expect. Here are some of the most ordinary ways that solar energy is used, as well as a few you might not know about

Residential and Business Power

How is solar energy used most? It’s used to power homes and businesses. In many areas of the western United States, there are entire subdivisions that are run on solar power. These areas have such impressive amounts of sunshine that many homes and businesses are able to go absolutely off the grid. In other parts of the country, there are many homes and businesses that are able to significantly reduce the amount of electricity from the utility companies. Even even if many of these homes or businesses cannot get all of their needed power from solar energy, even a part of it will save money and the earth’s resources.

Roadway Signs

Another way that solar energy is place to excellent use is with roadway signs and construction signs. Many of today’s transfer signals, roadway signs, and construction signs are powered by solar energy. With these signs in use 24-hours a days and with the large number of signs, it’s simple to see why this is really fantastic way to place the sun’s energy to work.

Vehicles

There are vehicles that are using solar energy for a power source. While many are still in the developmental stage, there are some that are using solar energy to power certain components of the vehicle. More research is needed to make a solar powered vehicle that has the same performance as a gas or diesel powered vehicle. But, the benefits will be phenomenal in terms of decreased pollution and dependence on fossil fuels.

Heating Water or Making Potable Water

It’s estimated that 30 percent of the electricity in America today is used to heat water. If you simply use solar energy to power your hot water heater, presume the reduction you’ll see in your electrical expenditure. Crosswise the globe, solar energy is also used to make potable water out of salt or sea water. This is reducing the world’s dependence on fresh water sources.

A Few Final Thoughts

How is solar energy used” is a question where the answers will change in the coming years. More and more developments and research will bring new uses to solar power.  As the world looks for more sources for renewable energy and a decreased dependence on fossil fuels, it’s quite possible that within a few decades renewable energy will be the only needed sources for power. One can only hope so.

If you are wondering, “How is solar energy used” you are not alone. There are new ways to use renewable energy learned each year and you can find more about these developments online.

I want to do a science project where I make my own solar panels out of different equipment to see which one will yield the greatest amount of energy. Is this a realistic theme if it has to be done before Thanksgiving? If so, how do I make the solar panels? How do I measure/convert the energy? Please help!
